Hi i found a bom / database program that looks really useful the only down side is there seems to be no help file so you have to figure out how it works . once you spend a little time playing it shows good potential .
Basically after finishing a kicad project you open Boms-Away . This then opens a dialog using the footprint and the value.
you can then enter manu part number, manu,supply part number and suppliers.
This starts a data base of parts for latter projects plus you can back annotate the information back in to the schematic.
The programer does admit that there is more to be done but i think its a brilliant start .
