How to reset 'origin' of a footprint in V9

For some reason, I set the origin 0,0 of a footprint as being bottom left, ie, pin 22

I am trying to reset the origin to be top left, ie, pin 1

I cannot find a way of doing this in the footprint editor.

Searching the net gives me examples of how to do this that do not exist in the menu’s

Any guidance, please?

main menu bar –> Place –> Place the footprint anchor (also available as icon on the right toolbar).

Instead of that specialized tool I use the generic tools: select all (CTRL+A), then use the new anchor (your pad1) and move the complete selection with that pad as grabbing point to the 0,0 location.

Hi

You are 100% correct.

I was looking for an ‘anchor’ sign, which must have been on older versions.

Many thanks, much appreciated

If the part is a surface mount part, you may want the anchor in the center of the part. Depends on your assembly house, but most want the center of the part which is where the part is “picked” up to be “Placed”
