Footprint Package_TO_SOT_THT:TO-220-15_P2.54x2.54mm_StaggerOdd_Lead4.58mm_Vertical missing

I just placed a TDA7293 symbol and it has a footprint set as default, which is

Package_TO_SOT_THT:TO-220-15_P2.54x2.54mm_StaggerOdd_Lead4.58mm_Vertical

However, this exact footprint is missing in the default library:

I’m just wondering - shouldn’t there be a footprint in the library if it is given as default?

It’s not about the 3D model.

The footprint specified in the symbol does not exist.

Works for me:

This is 8.0.9 and an appimage install so no :eye: :deer: what happened in your install.

Sometimes footprints get moved to another library, or whole libraries are renamed, and maybe that caused the link in the symbol to get broken. If that is so, then you can create an issue for this in the library section on gitlab. I am still on KiCad V8.0.9 myself, so I can’t verify it in the V9 libraries.

Missing in my 9.0.6 as well.

Looks like you should file an issue:

Curious why a rename of footprints didn’t trigger a check for symbols using them. Entirely foreseeable you would think.
