I’m asking for confirmation of a bug in dragging multiple tracks in the above Kicad releases. This may have been covered in the fix https://gitlab.com/kicad/code/kicad/-/issues/21892 and was too late to add to 9.0.5, but I don’t know.
Draw some tracks and then Right to Left block select so all the tracks are highlighted. See top illustration.
Drag (G) the right hand end of the tracks to the right or left mouse button down on right hand end of track to the right.
I end up with rubbish as in the bottom illustration.
If I drag to the left, drag works properly. If I then drag to the right, drag then works properly also.
It is a similar problem with a Left to Right box selection or holding the Ctrl key down while clicking on each track.
To repeat the fault, you need to use the back arrow and save then the fault will show on the next Drag.
I believe that when dragging tracks, the opposite end of the tracks you want to drag have to be fixed to another object. In version 9.04 (Windows 11, 24H2), when I try to drag the ends of free tracks as shown in the previous 3-track example they go all crazy. But when I add a 45 degree small track to each track, one at a time, then drag the added tracks after selecting them - they drag nicely. In the example below, I added the small 45 degree tracks to the horizontal tracks on the left side of the image. I then highlighted the 3 added tracks, and dragged only one of the tracks to get the routing towards the right.
